Clinical research associates, also known as Monitor , work on behalf of sponsors funding clinical trials for the new or existing drug, device, surgery, or behavioral intervention. Working directly for the sponsor or through a contract research organization, the main task of a CRA is to monitor the progress of an ongoing clinical trial. A CRA will spend most of your time travelling to different locations, dealing with medical professionals in trial centres, healthcare practices, or hospitals. The remainder of your time may be spent either office-based or working from home, but this will depend on the company.
